My friend needs help — what do I do?
First and foremost — if they are in crisis seek professional help.
They may be mad – but they will thank you later — call a hotline/911 or the police at your University or in your Town if they or someone else is in danger.
If a crisis is not occurring – become educated — and encourage them to seek the professional help as needed. You alone can not offer them enough support yourself when facing a mental illness alone. Also — seek support yourself (from other friends, or maybe even set up a consultation with a counselor yourself!)
