Happy New Year! Are you ready to bring in 2014? Maybe some are excited and pumped while others are nervous and hesitant. Honestly, I don’t know how I feel – other than the splitting headache I have right now. I can absolutely tell you though that I DO NOT have a new years resolution.
I don’t believe in them.
After all, I’ve been fighting for the past few years to regain my sense of self after putting all my worth and value in numbers, the expectations (both perceived and reality) of myself and others, and other external things that honestly have nothing to do with the fact that I am worthy of love, affection and attention regardless of ALL of that crap.
Yep. This is the anti-resolution; welcome.
Here’s how you join: Find the mirror(s) that you look in most often through out the day and place little notes on them. Here are some examples of what these notes can say:
- You are loved.
- You are worthy of love.
- You are beautiful.
- You are cherished.
- You are amazing.
Feel free to create your own statement for your mirror as long as it is positive and self-affirming. Leave this note on this or these mirror(s) for the entire year of 2014. Because, the let’s be real, regardless of what you accomplish or don’t accomplish, screw up, or destroy, create or break, lose or gain, all of the above is true.
(If you don’t believe me just ask the One who created you!)
My name is Erin and This is Where I Stand.
